Slow picture loading

I had trouble accessing the forum around 3pm this afternoon. The pages wouldn't load, and when they did, all the words were in a long column along the left side of the page. Everything seems to work fine now though (with the exception of the advanced search). Thanks, jdeg. :)

A while later further down the same coast -- waited 5 minutes for a three image page to load and just gave up. Also, the Notification links to Likes/Quotes does not work any more -- goes to a blank white page and stops loading.

I vote add the New Posts back
@jdeg Me Too! I miss the New Posts box already. The reason being, as I surf around Nikonites reading whatever might interest me, the new threads and new posts boxes are always there on my right. If something catches my eye, I'll check it out. I'm usually supposed to be doing something else and I likely would not take the extra step to click on new new posts. I'd rather have it on the side all the time tempting me.

Not been bad for speed this morning yesterday it was like being on dial up,seamed mainly to be pictures that had been posted straight from computers rather than the gallery

here the loading is so slow, that I click like without seeing the photos. But I know that those friends are posting just great photos.

Not related to speed, but I did notice that the like functionality is back in Tapatalk. Not sure what all is changing in the back-end, but may be related to some of the page load issues.

I put it back :)

Pics still loading very slow for me today, both at work, on the iPhone (LTE) full web view and through Tapatalk. Text is near instant, though, if that helps.

I've had a few spurts of bad load times, but when I'm having the problem I haven't been able to correlate it to any change in ping times. I'll see if I can grab a packet capture the next time the problem comes up and see if there's anything obvious in there.

I have an iMac and a MacBookAir. On the iMac, I use Google DNS and this site is now faster than it ever was using Safari. On my MacBookAir, I have my ISP's DNS and it's now sluggish as hell. What happens is that (and I've been through this before after the previous server's change) my IPS supplier's DNS are still sending me to an old address that has either moved or has been updated.

If some of you have problems, try using Googles DNS.

Went to the last page of "Almost" thread, waited 4 minutes for the images to load, went out and took 39 macro pictures in the garden, came back and there were still two images half there. Gave up.

I use OpenDNS here at home too! But I also front it with a caching DNS server so only hit OpenDNS if my local server doesn't have the answer cached. Unless the CDN provider is having DNS issues, but I'm seeing page load issues even on some threads with little to no pictures.
