Sky focus

Any tips for using autofocus (D70s) for sky photos? If I just try to aim at the sky, the autofocus hunts and the photos are a blur. I've tried focusing on buildings or trees first, pressing the shutter half down, and then shooting, but with mixed (mostly negative) results. Obviously I'm an amateur, but trying to learn!

Thanks!

Go to Back Button Focus and then you can focus on a distant object and let go of the button and the focus is locked there until you press the back button again so you have time to shoot without trying to hold a button down half way.

Back Button Focus is a great tool for so many photographers and is something I think everyone should try at least once. Below are a few sites that talk about the how and why of Back Button Focus.
