I've put a bid in on one of these on ebay, but now I'm not sure if its fully compatible with the autofocus on my D7500?

Rest assured it should work perfectly fine. This particular lens comes with a built-in autofocus motor, enabling hassle-free compatibility with your D7500 camera.
