Sigma 17-50 2.8

I just received the above lense from Amazon and the box says D5300 compatible. I have a D7200, is this just disclosing they fixed a previous issues with the D5300?

Here's a link describing past problems. Notice that this conversation goes back almost 3 years. I would test your camera for the listed problems, and return the lens if it exhibits any of the problems, but would expect that any problems have been resolved by now...

Same here I have the 17-50 f2.8 on my 7200 for over four years now works like a gem.

It is a good thing to get familiar with lens compatibility for your 7200. Every F mount lens will work, but some have limited functionality. The lens you bought will work fine.

The manual has a table in the back that gave me some reassurance when I started a few years ago. It can get a bit confusing, but that table helped me out a lot.

Ive been messing with it and wasn't having any issues I was just curious about the language on the box.

Just purchased one myself for the D7200. So far, no real issues. Knock on wood. Hopefully, any serious compatibility issues are a thing of the past. There were some complaints on the internet that had me worried though. But for $285, I had to try it!
