You need to be careful with the older Sigmas,some may not be compatible with later Nikons,my 50-500 is an updated version and i think it works with anything after the DF, but worth you checking before buying.

I've shot with this for 5 years, and yes, I'm currently selling mine to trade up to a Sigma 150-600mm Sport. Works really well with all my Nikons (Sigma updated the firmware for me last fall so it works with everything through the D7200 - they will do this service free for original owners). I shoot with it at f8 to f11 where it's nice and sharp. It can get a little soft below that, but nothing horrible. All my bird shots over the last 5 years have been with it, feel free to check my Flickr.

Marilynne and Don had the Tamron 150-600 Balcktop had the 200-500 Nikon I had the 150-500 Sigma

No. Only the Art, Contemporary and Sport series lenses do.

Would they be secondhand,if so there is more chance some one will have traded the 150-600 because of a problem like focus freeze.

While i may think a good 150-600 would be better than a 150-500 if i was buying secondhand then dont think i would risk a 150-600.
