Just got back from the local park, what am i learning well the first thing is in my hands OS is not as good as a fast shutter speed.although it will allow me to make shots that i wouldn't normally be able to make and hopefully i will get better.

I should have started a blog for this really because i feel it may be a long learning curve,in the past i would never try hand held shots with a long lens and although i still dont have it sorted the lens is really making me push the boundaries of what i can do,the lens will never be the sharpest tack in the box but when my technique improves ime sure i will consider it value for money,i dont take the benbo with me now never thought that day would come.

Not had much time today so nipped out quick, this is a crop and leaves a lot to be desired, again though learning what i can and cannot expect from this lens.

Called in at my local shop and they had a Sigma 1.4 converter second-hand so i borrowed it,tried the outfit on a tripod but wont be buying the converter.

Tried raw but i may have over cooked the first one, these where the best two,not worth the extra length when i loose auto focus and hand held.

With poor weather coinciding with my time off i haven't got out with the gear until today, had a little wonder around a local nature reserve not much happening though. The sigma lens looks like it will do a few different jobs when i get things right, thought i had set auto iso 800 on the D5100 but must have missed something as they have all been taken at 800,this i think has taken an edge of them and they could have done with less distractions in the back ground, never mind its a learning curve.

Most of the pictures i take at the moment are on a similar theme, well the first picture here is the reason why,my brother in law died just after christmas and it left Nancy's mum on her own so we have had to step in,on a Sunday morning she likes to feed the ducks and geese so i just grab what shots i can.
Sorry but it was taken on a samsung but the rest are the sigma.
