Re: Scott's Australian Walkabout

Found this beautiful Olive Python which was approximately 3 metres in length sunning itself on the side of the road. So of course I had to get some shots of it.

For these kind of shots I would need a really good zoom lens.
Up here in the mountains we do not have these kind of snakes...

Really love your shots, especially the stars and the storms (the snakes: not so much) ;)

O.K. Thanks cause I'm thinking of getting a 14mm which should be cheaper then getting the 14-24mm 2.8 Nikkor lens.
For the D750 I'll be getting when I get back to New Orleans in 3 weeks.

Wow Scott, you have a beautiful view of the Milky Way from where you live. Great job on that shot.

I have that lens, though I hadn't realized how well it works, until seeing Scott Murray 's great shots with his! :)

I'm definitely going to look into this lens once I get my D610. I've been racking my brain over a FF UWA lens.

Well after my recent shoot with Elliott I have another which is good, I am only charging $50 for 30min. This is to provide 10 - 20 images of a 10 month old and the mother. I find any longer with some children and they get bored.

[h=3]History[/h]Barunga Festival officially began in 1985 in the remote Aboriginal community of Bamyili instigated by the leader of the Bagala clan, Bangardi Lee.
In 1988, Barunga was the site of Aboriginal leaders coming together and presenting Prime Minister Bob Hawke with the Barunga Statement which called for a treaty. Prime Minister Hawke signed the statement in his visit to the Festival but sadly, it was never brought before Parliament. Yothu Yindi went on to write the worldwide hit ‘Treaty’ as a result of this gathering at the Barunga Festival.

[h=3]About Barunga Festival[/h]Barunga Festival, held annually on the Queen’s birthday long weekend (5-7th June, 2015) is now in its 30th year, earning its place as one of the most important community festivals in regional Australia.
The Festival has a strong history of showcasing the Katherine region and supporting remote indigenous communities to come together and celebrate the positive aspects of community life through football, basketball, softball, music (contemporary and traditional), traditional arts and culture. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to join in the festivities and enjoy this unique opportunity to engage with a remote Indigenous community.
The 2014 Festival attracted around 3000 visitors from far and wide, and garnered national and international media coverage.
In 2015, this much-loved Territory event promises to deliver an incredible program of music, sport, culture, art, dance, circus, kids activities, workshops, healthy food and many more festive treats – all of which will be revealed in the New Year.
