This is the original that I processed last year, I had more shots from the same location and hoped I could improve some.

Re: Scott's Australian Walkabout

Yay my days off start tomorrow and I have been thinking about what I am going to do, I have decided that I will go camping and will take my dogs with me :) Will most likely get rained on but I guess that will be part of the fun. Am also hoping for some great storms so that I can capture them before they vanish. Will keep you lot updated when I can. Now counting down the hrs of this last night shift.

My Whistling kite in its favourite tree. This was taken with the D800E 150-600 and fading light, if you look at the EXIF the ISO is at 5000 and S/Speed down to 1/500sec at f/7.1. This is slightly cropped into portrait orientation with no sharpening or noise reduction.

Well I learnt a valuable lesson tonight, do not scare the grasshopper closer to the frog until you have gone inside and have gotten your camera.

I went outside and saw my frog eyeing off a grasshopper that was on the arm of a chair, so I decided to touch the grasshopper at the rear so it would jump towards the frog. It landed 20cm from the frog, I thought great.... Went inside grabbed macro setup and went back outside, what do I find??? Froggy has already jumped and devoured the grasshopper.... FAIL. Next time I will be ready lol.

Here is froggy after eating said grasshopper, straight out of camera. He looks pleased with himself.
