And look at all the fun you have in your backyard( minus the injury) Envious!!

Ok we organised a Photowalk this morning for sunrise at a billabong, even though the sun failed to shine and the rain hammered down we still managed a few shots.

But after a few hrs the girls decided to call it a day and we decided to venture further and see what other hidden treasures lay around the area. We drove around some billabongs and found some awesome spots for sunrise and sunset.

We then decided to venture to the other side of the gazetted road and we again found some amazing sights.
One thing we did find was some soft boggy water, my mate decided he would venture and check it out in his Land Rover, well lets say I noticed him sitting on a weird angle and I proceeded to drive down to help him. He was bogged and not going anywhere.... WELL I got out and started running the winch rope out to him, he got out of his fourby and decided to help, this resulted in him slipping in the wet slippery mud and sustaining a distal fracture to his left radial bone. Well we splinted it up and drove him to the hospital..

Here are some photos of the day, including the hospital x-ray :)

Nice !!
Do you normally use your tripod when shooting the bugs ?

I just ordered one of those led ring flashes, hopefully my shots will improve.

Tripod is great for bugs that dont move but I find trying to get the legs in place with out moving plants etc is a pain in the arse. Most of mine are hendheld, I do use a pole or something to steady myself.

I havent even attempted a tripod for bugs, I do use one for closeups of flowers etc.

Mine are also all handheld. I am in places usually that do NOT lend themselves well to a tripod.. I do believe it would help but I have been working around it so far..

I have also only done handheld and only since a few days ago I have used my tri-pod mainly because I have been in my own backyard. I also use Live View when using a tripod... If handheld I do not use live view.

Same here. Once in a while, I do remember to bring my monopod. :)
