Do you have to do Snake handling as part of your work Scott ?
It reminds me of a time when I was working up in Weipa. I was doing some repairs to a Cat D11 at the shiploader, I was about to jump down off the tracks to get something out of my toolbox and there was a brown snake between me and my truck, i threw one of my spanners at it to scare it away, and the damn thing went straight up into the chassis of my truck.
I jumped in and drove over to the Emergency Services shed, I radiod them that I was coming (luckily I knew them very well)
They were waiting for me with some old powder type fire extinguishers, they discharged them up and under the truck. The snake never appeared, so we think it must have dropped out along the way.
That turned into a bit of a running joke for a while.
Perhaps we could do a work exchange and I could come and have a go at snake handling. Now thats how we should be trainingI may need to do a work trip over your way and attend a training session hehe and claim it all on tax.

Lee, nice shots!! Why were you training in Texas?? (Just curious)
Pat in NH
I work for ConocoPhillips, now Phillips66, at one of their oil refineries and was part of the emergency response team. The TEEX at College Station has one of the best training sites around and the company used to send all their ERT guys there, including us from the UK. I got to go there twice and had a fantastic time in Texas, we also spent a few days in Houston as well, all company related activities of course![]()
