This was a fluke shot too I was pointing and shooting in the other direction and when I turned around I saw this, snapped and that was itWe dont have anything like that, but I've been wanting to do something similar, the line down through the image, filled with *whatever*. Rocks makes really good for that.

It worked great, I got some daytime lightning which was 60+kms away using a sensitivity of 99%, the darker it got the less sensitive it needed to be. In the end I was down to 5% sensitivity and it was still firing alot. I could have went higher but I honestly wasn't missing any strikes and my cards were filling up quickly (16gb CF and 32gb SD). I am very happy with the Nero and am thinking of getting one for my D600 so I can point them in different places and capture more lightning as the storm was pretty wide and I ended up at 16mm to fit it all inDid you use the Nero?? How did it work???

I think I need more primes as I like the sharpness and ease of setting them to infinity.
I was feeling better but then I sneezed and it hurt like crazy... But I will be better in a week I think (I am telling my body). But I am definitely more mobile and am out of the 'rut' I was in.Thanks .. it was on my santa wish list but he did not come through (not complaining cuz he did on other stuff!)

Thank you WM. Yeah OZ is not a bad place to live. I am yet to do more travelling through the states, but it is on the cards. But after the Amazon, Ecuador, Borneo, Peru, Antarctica, Norway, blah blah blah lol so many places.Scott,
Australia's tourism industry should be paying you to post these photos. I've now got a real bad case of "gottgothere"!
In my US Air Force career, I never made it to Oz. I also never met anyone who did who didn't want to go again; everyone loved the place and the people they met.

I remember those sneezes being a killer when I had my busted ribs Scott, so I am thinking of you.
It took me about 3 months to get over my pains when I busted my ribs in a motorbike race in '93, but I had some damage to my wrists and elbows as well.
I did finish the race though, I placed 4th outright that year (1993 ) and won enough prize money to cover the repairs to my bike.
I rode and finished this race 4 times, 84, 91, 92, & 93. It was called the "Noel Stevens Memorial Enduro" when I rode it in '84, an event could only be called a memorial for 10 years back then ( not sure why that was ) it then changed name to "The Croc Run". By about '95 it was starting to lose its status as the top event in Australia, people weren't coming anymore because of the cost to get up there and race. Only a few sponsored professional riders were making the trip, so it was mainly just the locals racing. It was a shame to see it die like that, as in its heyday it was a huge event.
Here is a video worth watching if you have some spare time on nightshift tonight.
I was a spectator in '83, so you wont see me in this one.
I have plenty of photos of the race over the years, will get around to scanning them one day.
