Plus i just spotted dust on one of my pictures of lake skinner #359, dont know how i didnt see it before, so waiting to blast the dust off/ do a wet clean of my sensor.

it seems to be spinning its wheels, think i will leave it (laptop) into "geek squad" or somewhere, lost without it.

bought a new hard drive last night and give it to the repair man, seems the old HD is "donald ducked", he is trying to retrieve all the info, i just bought a external hard drive two weeks ago to back everything up, but hadnt got around to doing it . still have dust/whatever on my sensor, did a few test shots and zoomed in on the f30 on my screen and can see them, once i get my laptop back i will be tackling this job, must have over 600 pics on my camera.

still no laptop, should get it this evening, not much hope of retrieving the data/pictures, he is giving it another try, so that sucks, lesson learning though, regular backups will now be part of my work.

get the drive back, you might be able to open via explorer or using a DOS prompt. I had one crash a few years back, set it as slave and was able to get everything back except the OS.

The last time one quit on me it was the mother board. Took it to a pro that worked for quite a while trying to get all my data. Didn't charge after not being able to get it done. Then a friend of a friend took it and brought me back all but a couple programs. Lesson learned...backup

roy, if you did (or had an Auto Update like I did), you likely have 11...

What I did, restored to a previous view control panel.
Then change my updates to manual (notify me)
Then did a manual and did NOT check IE 11

I was back to wrking and had all of the security updates..
