are these blue winged teals???

Northern shovelers , similar patters though, in winter plumage , "winter" starting somewhere around august. I prefer the term off-season plumage but it hasnt caught on.

thats twice i have seen the red shouldered hawk in my last visits, got out of the car to get a little closer but got attacked by mosquito's.
