I don't normally long for the change of seasons like I do this year... but I think I know why this year is different... it is your posts and @wev and 1/2 a dozen others in warm climates with green and color that is driving it. As I look thru these 366 posts every morning while I am waking up and see these beautiful shots... Not complaining... just longing for spring.
Guess you'll just have to keep going back to check on it Roy.
I went to Bolsa Chica just south of LA this morning, meet up the the San Bernadino birders. I had a great time, seen 13 new birds, clapper rail, willet,marbled godwit, surf scoter, red breasted merganser, horned grebe, tern with a black head/beak? Brant, common loon, a ? savannah sparrow, blue wing teal, double crested cormorant and a reddish egret.

Took 450 pics, whittled them down to just under 100, going thru and deleting even further.
Spotted a 4ft gopher snake in the grass, got a few of it, well worth the 160 mile round trip, only bummer was it was a real overcast day, few spots of rain here and there.
