i think a Merlin, other birders said Prairie Falcon, i dont see the moustache and it could be a juvie???

spotted the first Vermilion of the "winter", albeit a juvie.

the other 2 birders went around to get in front of him with the sun at their backs, but he flew off before they got a shot.

then we got this strange stuff falling out of the sky, lasted about 2 mins.

light got so bad i gave up, i was so looking for a sunny day to. lol

Been raining here for about two hours now -- folks are freaking out

well it looks like our long wait for rain is over, we got some AM rain, i never saw any in San Diego, storm to pass thru tomorrow again.

We got our stream back and the run off ponds are filling up, hopefully get some birds at them now.
