Day 152 - June 1st, 2013.... Part 2....

I arrived at Massabesic and my wife arrived about 10 minutes later... we had some liquid for hydration and headed north towards Newfound Lake in Northern NH. I have never been there.

About 2/3's of the way we stopped at a little country store in Hill NH...
The store, and a closer shot of the wifes Can Am Spyder!

View attachment 39109 View attachment 39110

Nearby, an old car for sale and the Hill Post Office!

View attachment 39111 View attachment 39112

We rode completely around the lake... It was a little disappointing...
Mostly private land (homes & cottages) so while the views were great, it was near
impossible to stop to get a picture. Those areas that were public had No (or Limited)
shoulder such that I did not feel safe parking a 900 point motorcycle there.
I found legal pull over and shot these 2 pics... probably could have located
a couple other spots but it was already getting late..

We had ridden all back roads up but were taking the highway back due to time. Highway was about 20 minutes east, we fueled up, grabbed a drink at Dunkin Donuts and then rode boogity boogity all the way home!

How much for the car? lol:) Your wife has a fine machine there. Those are made right here in Quebec;)

Ha, you really do take your camera everywhere. Never thought of a gas pump picture, you made it look cool and now I want to go get gas. Just don't want to have to pay for the gas.

Nice shots

Thanks Kevin... Yes, I do have it with me most everywhere... I have a small bag and have camera, lens and a spare.. Lens depend on my plan for the day :)

I knew I had to stop for gas on the way to work... said to myself, "what will the pump look like" :)
I shoot some silly stuff and much is a bust but I am always looking...

Which camera are you carrying to work now?

Don, right now I am still carrying the D5100... at least until I learn a bit more on the 7100. I will have the 5100 tomorrow (working half a day) then gone Fri and Sat to PA for a Cheesesteak on the motorcycle.... I dropped a few pic on the 7100 forum just so they know I can at least take a picture with it!! :)

When you are in Forksville wade out into the middle of the creek. It is the best place to get a shot of the Forksville Bridge. And if you come across 87 through Dushore stop in at the Whistle Stop Restaurant and Saloon. Great place. While you are there take a picture of the only Red Light in Sullivan County. Have a great trip.

Glad to hear you made it safely. My ancestors settled in the whole Wyoming Valley, Bradford and Sullivan County area many Pre-Revolution. There are towns, roads, creeks etc named after them. Still have a few relatives living there and I still own some 4th generation land. My son works for the Geisinger Medical System Life Flight and is usually at the Avoca Airport one day a week.

Have a Great time at Forksville. Have you ever been there for the Archery Weekend?
