Ted... I am having some trouble with that.. I seem to get what I think is correct (guidlines follow main bldg lines) and it "appears" to now be a tad right leaning... Some of it may be the angle of shot perspective and the wide angle distorting a tad.. (As you pointed out, it was definatly off in the orig...

Marilynne, I think you were right on the tilt left after my 1st edit... This one seems better (to me, but I messed it up in the first place) :)

My comment wasn't a critique. I meant that I would literally spend more time at the church taking lots of photos. It's an exceptionally interesting building. ;)

But........... since you brought it up, I prefer your version more than a "corrected" version. Complete right angles, in some cases, look unnatural to me. That's why I brought the subject up in a post I made about preferences of angles.

Your photo contains perspective, both horizontally and vertically. "Correcting" that perspective changes the feel of the photograph. Now, with that said, I'm just a big bag of wind, so take my comments with a grain of salt.

I agree with Ted, that church is an interesting structure. Looks like some barrel distortion and the perspective as you mentioned. Sometimes messing with the distortion on the wide end can be fun, or easy to correct in LR if you don't like it. Old churches are awesome, don't build them like that anymore!

Thanks Rick! I totally agree with "they dont build them like that anymore! I have just started messing with the distortion etc in LR. Not too good yet!!! (Obviously) Like everything else, it will take practice!! Time to go find taller buildings and play. (Dont have that many tall ones in NH) :)

You guys are killing me... :) I am also trying to learn how to do nice water pics like yours Rick... There is some great water flows in Lowell MA that I plan to go practice on.. time, only need time! :)

Thanks again,

Nashua - home of the triangle manhole covers, according to Wikipedia

Nashua, New Hampshire may be unique in the US for having triangular manhole covers that point in the direction of the underlying flow. The city is phasing out the triangles, which were made by a local foundry, because they are not large enough to meet modern safety standards and a manufacturer for larger triangles cannot be found.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manhole_cover#cite_note-8
