Surprising little factoid, hummingbirds can begin starving if deprived of food in as little as 3 - 5 hours and can die in as little as 12 hours without food. They go into torpor at night to conserve energy.

It makes you wonder how they ever make the trip back to Argentina.

I went out to Foxhollow Farms last week looking for birds. Most of the birds were hiding but I did find quite a few butterflies.

Andy and I checked out the Nationals Bench Rest shoot last week. Some of the best shooters from around the world were there. Andy would like to compete next year. We will see. I kept myself busy taking photos.
