It was kind of funny, this guy was working on his boat, scraping paint. I liked the composition but he was bent over with his backside facing the lens, no a great pose! So I just kept the camera on him. After a minute or two he "felt like someone was looking at him" and turned to me. He must have thought I was shooting something out in the water because he turns and raises his hands to shield the rising sun and CLICK....once in a while I get lucky.

Thanks for the compliment. I really liked this one, showed it to a couple people and they were like meh...

Yeah, well those people lack my artistic eye and great taste. I say, print it large and hang it in a prominent place.

The deepest canal lock in France is on the Marne-Rhine canal at Rechicourt-le-Chateau. I recently went through it on one of my "pushing" trips. 15 metres deep, it replaces 6 normal locks.
