I've been shaving my head like this for over 30 years. So much easier maintenance-wise. No shampoo, no comb, no worries about wind messing up my hair......etc etc etc.

In my military days and Bouncer days I had my hair shaved to about 2mm, but since coming to Japan I have let it grow and now it is half way down my back. Going to do a Samurai Top Knot in Summer ... Really give the Japanese something to stare at... lol ... Will post photos come summer time.

I actually started a couple years ago, for all the same reasons, that and I'm cheap! Having my wife buzz me saves $15 a month for more gear

The first time I caught myself looking in the mirror and moving my hair around (ala cover-up), I said, "That's it!", and shaved it all off. I swore I'd never be one of those comb-over-guys. It wasn't popular back then, but now everyone is doing it.

Yes, we were trend setters. We're cool.
