Remote Cord Specs

Sorry, that is wrong. Nikon has used a ten-pin connector for years. The Z5 II uses TRRS headphone jack, which has three circuits. Only two are needed, and I need to know which two.

If you do a internet search for "pin out for the MC-DC3" there are several source. Of course use at you own risk.

My misunderstanding. My response is right for a Z5 but incorrect for Z5II. And that is a 4 conductor phone plug instead of the more industry-standard 3 conductor plug other cameras use.

Odds are the lowest (outermost) conductor of the barrel is the common like any A/V connector and then you guess which of the 3 that remain is release. But I suspect it is a 2-stage momentary contact switch (electrically 2-pole 1-throw in a sequence) so 3 of the contacts are in play. That to allow for the half-press focus and exposure lock like my remote cord does.
