Yes i still remember walking into a room knowing nothing about it and couldn't believe the film on the tv,at first i thought it was a disaster movie, which it was but not the sort i first thought.

i was suppose to fly from San Diego to Belfast that day for my wedding, but my wife convinced me to come home a week earlier, i would have missed my own wedding if i had of stayed. A tough day for some families tomorrow.

I was in jury duty when it happened. We all watched on the tv in the pool, then they announced the courts were closed and we all got searched on the way out.

RIP to all those that lost someone that day, and to the countless 1000's that have lost their lives as a direct or indirect consequence of the actions that followed.

I was at work that day and remember the radio station I was listening to cut the song short with breaking news.
For most of the day it was just switching between radio stations to get a better picture of what was happening (or had happened), and it was only about 17:00 (GMT) when we got home did I get to see the pictures on the TV.

I knew it was a world changing event in many ways and who could argue any different now.

We called various relatives state side to find out how everyone was and if there had been any backlash against the community.
I can't remember if it was the same day or the next, but we got a phone call to tell us my cousin was missing :'(

My aunt never gave up hope that her youngest daughter may well be found alive, or that she had simply not gone to the office that day and was having difficulty getting in touch with anyone to tell them she was ok.
Alas, 5 years later to the day, my aunt passed away - daughter and mother once again reunited in the hereafter.

RIP

It was a very sad day for the United States of America. I remember I had two business trips planned, September 3rd I was flying into Oklahoma City for the week and September 10th I was flying into New York City for the week. I remember not looking forward to OKC wondering if they had lingering emotions about the bombing there. And I remember being elated to go to NYC because I had never been. Both trips were cancelled and looking back it's odd how life plays out. Two of my colleagues were stuck in New Jersey and had to take a train back to Florida.

If everything works out, I'll be heading to NYC next week and I plan to visit that area. I'm hoping to be able to visit the WTC and humbly pay my respects to those Americans that lost their lives so many years ago.

Just got back from my trip. Didn't do much sight-seeing but I did get down to the WTC. It's a beautiful building. Here's a snap from my Sony NEX-6. I was also able to visit the B&H SuperStore... it's crazy busy.

For the last 3 years, my son and his wife lived across the street from the WTC site on the 34th floor of his building, and he now works with many of the people affected by this sensless act. This is the view from his patio. He works in the building to the left (WTC 2) He was not there when this happened. Many of the people that worked here have left, the ones that remain do not work on any 9/11. Understandably, many of the people here are still very jumpy. Just because this happened 13 years ago does not mean it has been forgotten by them. Many there still relive the horror every day. We were very relieved when he moved out of that apartment into his own home 20 miles away.
