Just got mine from UPS. I think the shutter count is kind of high...4 :)First impressions coming from mirrorless are it's definitely a lot heavier. The grip will take a little getting used to as I haven't heald a real grip in awhile.Regardless, now it's time to go through all of the settings, yeah!

I drove back from my long weekend today, and to my shock, the package was sitting on my front porch when I arrived home. To my dismay, one end of the box was smashed pretty good and the sealing tape was broken. I can't believe that this didn't require a signature for delivery!

I called Adorama customer service and they instructed me to photograph the box before opening it and to send them in an e-mail.

After that, I opened it up and there appears to be no damage to the camera or accessories. Right now, the battery is charging so that I can test the camera soon, but as of now, I'm just a bit anxious about this.

Was the nikon box damaged? If you ever resell it, some buyers are picky about having the original box

Not really. The tabs on the top of the box were a bit ripped on one side. It is a White Nikon Refurbished box, so the value won't be the same as if it were the gold box. Besides, I've never before resold any of my equipment. I've either used it to failure or given it away. If I keep the D7100, which only had 124 shutter actuations when I received it, I'll likely give my D90 to one of my children or to my father.

Resale value just isn't that important to me right now. I'll likely regret this at some point, but that's my nature.

Signatures are only truly required if demanded (and paid for) by the shipper. The rest is always at the driver's discretion.

Harold, it's funny you noticed how heavy it is. After tooling around with FX cameras for a while the first thing I noticed was how small and light it is. LOL

I didn't see where they specified refurbished or any limited warranty on that site. Adorama increased their refurbished price to $950, so I'm skeptical with these guys.

You are correct. I need to remove the word "refurbished." I came across this ad on the Nikon Rumors website.

When I bought mine I found a lot of them cheaper but when researching the sites there were too many warnings. I ended up buying a used one (1800 actuations) for $810 but that was months ago.

Many times "Refurbished" is just a customer return with no issues could have found the camera too much for what they needed etc.
