RAW conversion in LINUX

Am using Linux Mint 15 and have UFRAW as the post processing software. Usually I shoot JPEG, but today thought I would give RAW a try.
I have successfully converted a raw file to JPG, but the image is curved on the sides (see attached). Anyone any ideas, or maybe can even suggest some alternative software?

Thanks in advance

I know of (but have not used) two different RAW converters for Linux. (I love Mint BTW. Great OS.)

I would probably look at darktable first since it supports non-destructive edits similar to Lightroom. It also runs on Mac OS X.

Maybe your raw converter is trying to make some kind of lens distortion correction. I know that in camera raw, when I try to apply some manual lens corrections I have to crop to get the frame straight. This is the only thing that comes to mind right now.

Marcel, thanks so much for the tip. I have had another play and found indeed that it was the correction for the lens barrel distortion which was the problem. By selecting the lens the image was cropped accordingly.

I like the B&W version.
