RAM Upgrade

I just received delivery of 16Gb RAM for my new iMac..
Originally this comes with 8GB so now i have a total of 24GB! Quite unbelievable..
When i got the iMac i assumed 8GB would serve most of my needs cos i had moved from a PC with 2GB RAM, but quickly realized that running LR & PS together brought the machine to a crawl.

I still have an ancient PC at home with 512mb RAM & 2GB HDD :p

Anyways ordered this from OWC (Other world Computing) or also know Mac Sales.
It was shipped from Henderson, NV on the 8th of April, and it arrived here on 20th April... Not bad at all.
I did have to pay extra for priority shipping.. So the total cost was $165 with shipping $20.

So hope this covers my needs for the next 3-5 years at least!

It should, and congrats. I'm also running 16 GB on a Mac mini i7. Can't believe the RAM limit on the new iMacs....what....32GB??? Holy cow. Don't forget to make sure your software is set to run with a higher RAM limit (ie: Photoshop).

Yep. I had to choose between crucial and owc.. Though the difference in the modules was not much, there was a huge difference in the shipping costs.. Automatic choice was owc
