Question on flash lighting for macro

Thanks for the pointer to the blog, it was a very illuminating read, and the sample shots are simply amazing. I learned a few new things about shooting macro, such as the potential for using achromats, the possibility of 100% flash lighting rather than natural light, and the possibility of using Liveview and AF rather than viewfinder and MF. His philosophies are very unique, too!
