Day Seventy Nine
Shylo Again. The neighbor comes over and throws the ball for Shylo. After a few tosses, he goes back in and Shylo sits and waits for his return. I had to call her at least a dozen times to get her to turn and look.

Day Eighty One

Anyone remember the "Herd Of Ducks" (day 56). Today we have a Herd of Chickens. I had to settle for this shot. I got the camera ready to go this morning, and low and behold... ONE battery bar. Onto the charger for the day. Tomorrow I plan to loan my 105 f2.8 to a friend who in turn is going to loan me his 35 f1.8. We'll be playing around with them for the weekend. Hopefully I'll get some good shots with the 35 for tomorrow's upload.

Day Eighty Two

Today is early. This was spotted behind me on the wall at work. I just got my hands on a friend's 35mm f1.8 so I grabbed the camera. For now, this will be called "sumkindabug", but I'm sure Pete will clue me in as to it's real name.

For the record... I think it's called a Silverfish, but not sure.
I also think I should have cropped in closer huh?

This is a centipede. A Silverfish has a more teardrop shaped body.

That is definately not a silverfish because they are silver...I agree with Pete...centipede. In any case centipede silverfish etc you do not want to jack with said bug...so you were probably close enough to it.

Thanks Pete and Jeff. After searching for types of centepedes, I find that it is a common house centepede. Needless to say. Soon after the photo was taken, it became a DEAD house centepede.

Our CEO is extreemly bug shy so if there are any more sightings, an exterminator will be called.

Those house'pedes drive my poor bug catching cat bonkers. she sits up like a dog, I have yet to catch her in the act since they usually come out in the dark to annoy her.

Day Eighty Three

I normally photograph flowers in front of where I work. There is a flower society that plants and tends to a flower garden every year. This year it's not doing too well. I was hoping to catch each new type of flower as they bloomed. So far only a couple, they'll all come in at once and I'll be stuck with picking ONE for here instead of one per day.

Anyway, these tiny little blue flowers started blooming today, so here's my contribution.

Day Eighty Four

This morning, it rained. Then it rained more this afternoon. I decided I needed a snack while watching a movie. Orvil Reddenbacher and the Microwave. Two really great inventions.

Day Eighty Five

Beginning to think that Photograpy stinks. After a morning of rain/drizzle/overcast weather, the breezes calmed down, and the sun started to peek through. Finally a chance to attempt some "BUBBLE" photos. Dug out the Bubble blowing machine my wife bought last fall... Dang thing didn't work. Got out the one she bought last week and No batteries to fit it. Finally dug out a really old one, set it up and the wind picked back up rendering it almost useless. Bubbles would form and the wind would shear them off and pop them. Took over 250 shots trying to catch just one. (Glad it's not film).

Wait a minute... You guys don't want to hear about my hopeless failures... Let me start over.

Here's a shot of top of the portable humidifier we use when things get really dry.

Day Eighty Six

Gorgeous day today (if you stayed inside and looked out). Sunny, but real windy and it was a cold wind.

After work I took the long route to my car (50 extra steps). I got some shots and couldn't decide which to use so I used them all.

I found this Iris, it's petals all being battered by the wind. Reminded me of a person with really long hair with the wind to their backs.

2012-086a.jpg

Then I found the Iris Wannabe.

2012-086b.jpg

As I got into the car and started out of the lot I spotted this tree. I've seen it every day but today, the shot just kinda hit me. The tree has been dead for at least three years. Someone with more time and money than brains decided to paint it green. How they got to the top I don't know but I checked and it is paint. The apartments in the background is part of the projects with low rent housing being provide. You wouldn't believe how blatently they sell drugs on the streets there.

Anyway... My three for today.

Day Eighty Seven

What to do? What to do?
I was trying to capture the dogs, and then couldn't decide which one to put up here for today. I decided why play favoritism.

First is Charlie the Patriarch. Older than the hills and almost as cranky as me.

2012-087a.jpg

Then comes Dakota. Sorry for the softness of the photo, she won't stand still for anything. She will get that ball, and pace all over the deck and yard showing it to anyone who will look.

2012-087b.jpg

Finally there's Shylo. Can't call her prejudice... She hates everyone equally. (Except her vet)

2012-087c.jpg

That's the clan. All three of them.
