Printing papers

Don't know if this is the right forum for this, if not, the moderators can move.
I print most of my photos on Ilford Pearl paper. When I first switched to a Canon printer I tried out their paper mostly because they sent free samples. But i've always migrated back to Ilford. Something about the results I get just seems to please me.
But I always wonder what other people prefer and would love to hear what paper that is and why they have selected it. So, who wants to start?

I have a HP printer and so far HP papers have been better balanced for that printer. I tries Kodak papers but could never get the color balanced for them.

I think color balance for different papers is a major problem in that it takes forever to balance even using the presets for the different papers. Once he find a balance we tend to stick with that paper.

I used to use Ilford paper in the darkroom all the time and loved it but B&W was a lot easier. When I worked in photo labs we would buy paper by the truck load so the lot numbers would match better so color balance would match better for a longer amount of time.

I have a Canon printer and always used Canon paper until I needed some immediately and the local store did not have any, so I bought Ilford Gallerie and that is all I have used since. Ilford inkjet paper company has recently filed bankruptcy though, so the future of the product is in doubt.
