Now 2 days after the full moon. Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I find a "fun" project to undertake, clouds move in... had to wait until the moon was quite a bit higher in the sky tonight, so the rotation changed a bit. I tried to match it up as best as I could, to match the previous two shots. A bit more fade and crater definition now, along the top right. Supposed to get nasty here on Friday, so hoping I get at least one more shot tomorrow... then I'm just going to keep track and fill in days after full moon the next cycle, as I can, until I can catch every night of wax/wane. (or, at least, that's the plan, LOL)

Love your moon shots! The only moon shooting I do is in Hearts.
I have to get out with the camera and give it a go. But then I remember the snow....and the cold. And then my knee aches.

Actually I am pretty content to just look at your shots.

3 days after "Full" now, and I was a bit blessed... the skies this morning were completely clouded over, but they cleared off again tonight before the front and rain moves in tomorrow. Here's the next shot!

This was actually one of my better moon shots, I think, for a handheld shooter. A definitive shadow line now, and many more craters apparent! Can't wait to eventually capture a shot of every day in a moon cycle and view them all together!

...and just for Scott, "down under"...

Unfortunately, no "4 days after full" shot last night, as the system that brought all of THIS moved in yesterday afternoon...

Even the birds are iced in.

A shot down the street, framed by some of the same branches I've shown covered in leaves earlier in my thread.

Some of the leaves that have refused to fall are locked in for at least a few more days now.

With gutters, I haven't had many opportunities to catch icicles, so I took a shot of our tiny little guests while I could.

My brave little toaster. It's gotten me to work in a blizzard with 21" of snow fall once, several times in 4"-12" snowfalls. Now, it's bravely holding up ice-laden branches. Toughest little compact in the country??

Few more ice shots.

Not a good day for riding bikes...

...or for shooting hoops. At least, not on an outside court.

Random angle from the back yard.

A close up of some of the branches in our yard. Amazing how the ice we all dread carries a beauty all of it's own.

I have been outside all day wearing shorts and a tee shirt and sandals. And running the AC in the house.

We had an ice storm here 2 years ago. Knocked out power for over 10 days. It was pretty rough going. We got between 3-5 inches of ice. Brought down trees by the dozens.

Glad to hear you are doing good.

We've had freezing rain all afternoon here to. I'll try to shoot some more shots tomorrow when the light permits.

Only about a 1/2" to an inch total here this time. We've had worse. The neighbor's tree was the hardest it. They were all dead, but he kept it really healthy through the summer so none of the leaves had actually dropped yet. He's paying for it now as half of the branches are on the ground from all the weight.

We only lost power for about an hour this afternoon, so I'm thankful we didn't get worse.

The problem with the overly warm weather this time of the year is that is a precursor to very dangerous weather.

Marcel, your shots outshine mine! Love 'em!

I'll post a few more of mine anyway... including my poor attempts at night shots.

No tenants running in/out of the birdie condo today!

Suggestion: Heated seats?

Ice12.jpg

Light from the streetlight (on the block behind our house) shining through the ice on all of our low hanging limbs and lines. I used ISO 3200, a tripod, F4.5 and a 1 second exposure with my nifty fifty.
