Question about lenses... I own a Nikon D7100 with a 16-85, a 50 1.4, 70-300, a 105mm f1.8 AIS lens. thinking of getting the 10.5 fisheye or the 28mm 1.8g, I tried the 10.5 , but it had issues with a extremely tight focus ring while on the camera, off the body it was fine. The 28 is a FX lens but could be used for DX as well. Any feedback or experience with these lenses would be helpful, thanks much.

The 28mm f/1.8 is a great lens, but us redundant in your current situation from a focal length perspective, so it will only serve to enhance DoF and bokeh vs. the 16-85mm, and it operates as a 42mm on your camera, so it's not really "wide" per se. If you're looking at ultra-wides and/or fisheyes I would highly recommend the Sigma 8-16mm. Not extremely bright, and it does not allow for filters to be added, but the perspective is wonderful. As for fisheyes, I have the Rokinon 8mm. It does not autofocus, but it does have a chip to allow for control of aperture and metering. Nice lens at a more than decent price.

I tried the 10.5 and while I like the lens, the practicality of the lens is negligible on a day to day basis. IT is one of those lenses that I see as an impulse buy with remorse as I know it would just end up on the shelf saved for "One of those rainy days".
Ultra-wide lenses... 12-24 F4, 11-16 F2.8 in Tokina or the 12-24 F4 Nikon would be my choice. Great lenses to own if you need an UW. The Tokina 11-16 F2.8 if you need a lower/quicker lens (Not saying much but you know)...

Check those out at your local shop and see if those would fit your needs.

Thanks for the responses gentlemen. I think I'm axing the idea of the fisheye, nice lens but... I'm thinking of the 28, I do have the 16-85, I was also thinking of the 10-24 nikon, but I have read that the 16-85 is sharper than the 10-24, so that's always a plus.. for my use, I think the 28 would produce some great images for the price.

Faster primes always helps especially with low light condition without jacking up the ISO and to keep the image cleaner. The lenses that you suggested are good as long as you augment them with flash or for outdoor use with good light.
