I have so many slides to scan, but am too lazy to start the task. I wish you luck in scanning yours Sandpatch. Maybe you will inspire me to start, but the procrastination bug is very strong with me. :shame:

It'd be great to see your slides. After a lot of deliberation, I've chosen to retire at year's end and I'll have some time to get serious about buying a scanner and getting down to it. I figure that I'll be done when I'm 115 Years Old. I don't want to ship my slides anywhere for fear of losing them and commercial scanning is pricey.

The Epson V600 scans 4 Slides at a time and costs $200. Epson V800 scans 12 Slides at a time at even better quality, but costs $640. I grimace at spending over three times the price for the V800, but it might be worth it for productivity's sake.

Thank you Chuck! Had my retirement gathering at work today. The room was decorated in Thomas The Tank Engine décor [:D] and the cake was just perfect! I've been blessed to work with excellent people for 35+ Years.

#353 - See the longest and highest railroad bridge on the Union Pacific Railroad system. Located near Starbuck, Washington, the historic Joso Bridge spans the Snake River Canyon. Standing roughly 261 feet above the bottom of the Snake River, the bridge has 55 spans and is 3920 feet long. (Photo via Wikipedia)

Taken yesterday in Pontiac, SC on the former Seaboard mainline. Weather is cold and clear, so much different than the warm and humid haze that usually prevails around here. Say, who put that phone pole in such a place as to cast a distracting shadow on the locomotive nose?
