How was Knoebel's? I've thought about going camping there.
Never camped there but understand it is a nice campground. We have been going there for over 20 years. At one time we lived in Danville and my son worked there his last two years in high school. Then when he got out of the military and went to college in Williamsport he worked there again running the roller coasters. He now works in Danville and still has friends that work there so we still get all the inside info about new rides, best food in the park etc.

It's a part of a train. Well, was, anyway:
I'm normally not a "roster shot" railfan, but this one was worth the film. It was taken 11/02/1987 in Montgomery, AL and WM 3798 was the very last locomotive to survive in Western Maryland Rwy. paint. The WM was a fine road, but found itself engulfed by CSX lines and was merged and largely removed. You can ride a portion of its former mainline west from Cumberland, MD on the excellent Western Maryland Scenic Rwy. Soon after the shot, CSX renumbered it to 6573 and sold it after a mechanical failure. Amazingly, she was rebuilt and I think still serves on the Indiana Southern Railroad as their 4041. This locomotive was delivered in June 1971. If only our vehicles lasted this long, eh?

Former Norfolk & Western position light signals at Radford, VA taken April 2013. This type of signal is normally associated with former Pennsylvania Railroad lines, but the N&W had them too. Sadly, these lovely signals are being rapidly displaced by modern, low-maintenance designs.

railroads? Also must work for one.
Are is there a book on all this stuff?
To find out when they were built and so on.

That's a tough question to answer -- I've loved trains since I was old enough to point I guess.
I worked for the Santa Fe for a summer when I was young and for a shortline too, but have since worked for a large shipper for most of my career. To research old railroads, this is a nice book:

Taken on 08/21/1992, here's the Georgia Woodlands Railroad nearing the end of the line at Washington, GA. This is a former Georgia Railroad branch. I sometimes find nice rail photos in old magazines and set out to find the location. It often happens that nature grows in to close vistas or a scene has changed so much as to be unrecognizable, but this area of rural GA hasn't changed much and I was able to get a shot.
