Two shots taken yesterday, the first at Clemson, SC of NS 265 with the Virginian heritage unit lending a hand and the second near Jarrett, GA on the Tugaloo River bridge at the GA/SC state line. I tried in vain for this shot many times in the late '80s, and finally hit paydirt yesterday after a 30 year hiatus. It's in fading light, but I finally came away with something.

Stopped at Fairforest, SC just missing seeing a train, but a look at the signals indicated more action was to come. In fact, three more moves followed in twenty minutes. :)

A westbound stacker:

Had some time on Saturday afternoon to check out Norfolk Southern's mainline between Greenville, SC and Spartanburg, SC. I'd never seen much of this portion of the line. Caught a few shots and found some locations worth revisiting.

Also found the former Piedmont & Northern depot in Greer, SC under renovation. The P&N favored stucco walls and tile roofs on their structures and fortunately a few of them remain.

This is the most activity I have seen at the Willard yard in over a year. PSR really has killed the activity there. Thanks for the info on the origins of Willard's name. :encouragement:

Bellevue is another yard gutted by PSR. Grass growing between the rails on the main show how infrequent the traffic is now.

Last time driving through Bucyrus Ohio I saw what I thought must be a mirage. No it was very real & so freshly restored I could smell the paint off gassing.

Shocking about Bellevue -- I'd have never guessed. :( I'm hoping that as tonnage returns, some of these cost-cutting operational decisions are reversed.

Whoa -- I'd have run my car off the road upon seeing that. What a great find, so perfect. I hope it can be kept safe from fools with spray cans.

Visited with family in WI this past week and was able to stop by the CP (former Milwaukee Road) / CN (former Soo) junction at Duplainville. It's a busy spot.
