Two tunnels that would make good compositions next time, west portals at Ridgecrest and High Ridge. That's abandoned US-70 above the portal of High Ridge tunnel in the lower photo. It's been made into a great hiking and cycling trail.

Wow, those BNSF units are quite the find and you had great light. Arrrgh on the helper unit. It happens to all of us.

Yes it was good light & I even managed to have it on the correct side of the train. Imagine that!

Those tunnels look very good. Not many of those in my neck of the woods.

Earlier in the day I'd encountered the SOU unit in the Asheville engine terminal. It's an impossible location for pictures. So near, and yet so far. :(

Finding it in the Loops later in the day was a pleasant surprise.

This W&LE freight has come out of the NS yard. It is waiting on the east side of Bellevue for a crew to take it over to the W&LE's Brewster yard.

In the far background is the Port of Tacoma, Tacoma, WA. The two Navy ships are part of the modern version of the MSTS. I only know one by name, Cape Intrepid.

Nice picture John. That thing looks fast.

Those are Navy ships? I thought they were some really far out architecture.
