This little jumping spider was only about 5mm long. The image is 10 images stacked in PS. I used the D700 and 35mm f/2 AIS Nikkor reversed. Lighting was two Sunpak 555 strobes bounced into umbrellas. Being away from home I have really had to become good at improvisation since I can't possibly bring all of my usual stuff with me!

I have looked at hundreds of Jumping Spider photos and I will be danged if I can ID this one. The white pedipalps are pretty characteristic but I cannot find any photos of one with the right abdomen markings and the white pedipalps.

I was out for birds, but came around a corner and found a nice spider, so I did a quick swap for my macro

When I went to put my long lens back on, I spotted a little jumping spider sitting on the lens hood
