This is the same spider shot I already posted, except for some touch ups in post processing.Oh and I think this spider is about 1/16 of an inch, though it would be hard to get him to hold still for an accurate measurement with my micrometer! Lol
I do all of my macrophotography hand held. As you said, it isn't always possible to set the tripod in the ideal position and little beasties aren't always very patient.
Great photos! I think, however, I would have rotated the last one. Looking at spiders at various angles can be quite disturbing and, though many photos may look wrong when turned, this isn't one of them. Being able to look straight in the eyes of a jumper is just amazing. Hope you don't mind my adjusting your shot.

That's wild we have the same spiders up here but the legs are striped. Are those guys all white when they're young?

I don't think so. I think all black. Look behind the second one and you will see another spider. Actually on the other side of the web. I think it is a young one.
