I was going for the pink in the spoonbill, but I guess I clicked on the water instead. Trimmed in camera

This was an attempt to emulate the old process of painting a black & white photo to add color.


This looked a little too saturated to emulate a hand painted photo.
So I tried de-saturating the rose a bit - also tried adding some grain:


Same without the additional grain


Not sure that I ever succeeded in creating something that looks like a hand painted photo.

I just realized, the EXIF info is missing from these images, so for those that are interested:
