The safe answer is always 28. ;)

Charlie I think she might even send you a D750.
Believe it or not other than a slight increasein exposure and touching up the background to remove creases I have done very little to this photo.

She is 57!!! Hard to believe.

The crop is technically wrong but I love it exactly as is.

So having no models and needing to test a location for a shoot on Saturday I was forced into doing a selfie.
The light at my new "outdoor studio" is perfect but the subject was awful.
To grunge it up even more I applied the Dragan effect.
Now even I would hate to meet me in an alley :)

Did you add that smoke in post? I'm asking because I just got a Photoshop magazine at Barnes & Noble that came with a disk of smoke brushes.

It's real. Smoke machine in my studio. I like the different patterns I get from athlete to athlete. However, I am thinking of going in one day and just shooting some smoke back drops to drop the athlete in. BUT, I am partial to how the smoke will sometimes move in front of the athlete.

I would love to take a picture like that, but down south of you Canadians we have moved past the horse and buggy making them blacksmiths kind of obsolete. :)

Great picture and looks perfect in B&W.

We actually have a school here in my neighborhood that teaches black-smithing.

As you would expect, it's right next door to the wheel-right's shop (somewhat LESS interesting to watch, BTW).

Caveat: Thread contains no actual portraiture, per se: Doin' it Old School: Blacksmiths at Work
