Pulled out a lens originally used for 35mm. It's a Sigma 70-210mm f/3.5-4.5 APO macro. Faster than some of the f/4-5.6 and f/4.5-5.6 lenses. It's not a true macro though. Back then it was a decent lens for the money. (EDIT: that isn't haloing around his hat--he is set up in front of a window with a sheer curtain so his hat is backlit).

This guy obviously was intent on capturing some type of image.
