The last time we were out shooting waterfalls in February he was kneeling in a stream and was wet from a little above the knees down.

I took this photo while birding at the Wako Wetlands.
If a picture tells a thousand words, here's the best reason in the world for buying a Nikon 200-500/5.6 with Vibration Reduction.
That lens is bigger than the lady carrying it!
Doesn't look like much fun.

PS..... they did more carrying than picture-taking.

Ya... I am thinkin' that would not work with my cane... going to stick with my plan for the 200-500... Although you would save on a gym membership if you packed that around all day.

Assuming that a video is just a mess of stills strung together, a tech from the Natural Science office shooting plants in our specimen garden. Why video for subjects that are not known for their movement is a question I can not answer and he was not inclined to discuss it.
