Friday morning my first day at the HSR vintage race at Daytona. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why i wasn't getting any sharp shots of the cars on track. Toook me almost an hour to figure out single focus was on and not continuous.
I’ll post two that I have not seen yet (I done them all so far)
Forgetting to take the lens cap off or forgetting where I put the lens cap only to find it in a pocket or on the dash of the car.
Leaving rapid fire on and going to take a single shot.
This happens a lot after bracketing shots. Usually it makes me jump because I’m expecting a single shot and I have to take the shot over again.
I think we need to make this thread required reading for all new photographers. That way they will realize they are not the only ones that do stupid things.
I made most of these mistakes already mentioned. I think if we all do a couple of test shots before leaving home most of these problems can be corrected prior to arriving at the scene.
Here is my blunder: I was out taking pictures of a sunset on a rocky and rugged place when suddenly I remembered that now I have to walk back. Luckily there was still a slight light that I could barely see my way back. Ever since then a flashlight is always in my bag.
But my recent blunder was wit the D800e and leaving auto ISO on (or bumping it on). Ended up with ISO 5000 on a bright sunny day using a SB-910 for fill flash. Wondered why the flash was not very bright.
