Seeing your amazing shots make me want to cry. I have been dreaming of getting a D500 since it was announced. I want one so bad it hurts sometimes. Like now looking at the amazing detail in your photos. I guess your post are another one I need to close my eyes as I scroll by like the other people with the D500. I keep trying to come up with a way to get one. But so far none of them are legal. LOL Being disabled sucks.

OK. Enough of a pitty party for myself.

Awesome shots. Keep them coming.

Since getting the D500 and both the 105 f2.8 macro as well as the amazing 300mm f4 PF lens, I have started to shoot some images of butterflies / dragonflies and other flying insects etc. I am amazed at the IQ I am getting from the D500 and both of these lenses and the challenges of capturing these timourous beasties is all new.

These are some of my recent exploits with the new kit.

Thank you Bill for the kind words. I had been considering this camera for a long time as I had switched from Nikon to Fuji a couple of years ago and while the Fuji's were fantastic for street / landscape / documentary work, for me they did not cut it for wildlife/sport/aerial so traded all my Fuji kit in and got the D500 with some lenses.

I can honestly say it was the best thing I could have done and even though the D500 is larger and heavier than the Fuji's it is easily manageable and smaller than my previous D3s / D810 and the performance and IQ are incredible.

Happy days and I do hope you are able to get one soon to compliment the range of lenses you already have.

Good luck.
