I was in Central Florida this weekend, and while out with my camera, I was surprised by this creature, who seemed very interested in my camera. Often when faced wth this kind of situation, your choices might be "Fight or Flight". I chose the third option. Yep, I froze. I then very carefully got out my phone and set it up for photos, and quietly took a few shots.

As you can surmise, I'm lucky that this one didn't tear me apart!!;)

Actually, the photos were taken at the Butterfly Rainforest exhibit at the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville, Florida. For those of you who ever get the chance to go, I really recommend it. It was $11 for admission, but they allow cameras, and you'll have to go to Central America to see most of the species in the exhibit.

And might I mention how smart the butterfly was? He had a choice of landing on my camera, the only Nikon, or two others, which were non-Nikon. "He chose wisely."

Great shots. My wife and I shoot at the Zoo here and the have a Parakeet walk through cage. We go in there and they have little stick treats you can buy to feed the birds. They will land on your hand and eat off the sticks. ONe of my favorite photos of me is when I have the camera up to my eye and there is a bird sitting on by camera. In fact that is my photo here on the site. Just look to the left under my name. LOL

A few shots from my visit to the Florida Museum of Natural History last Monday. Not great photos, but the trip did get me working on my macro skills again.
