I don't know if it's the weather or the general bug explosion here in SoCal, but I have never seen so many varieties of hairstreak and cloaks.

The gulf fritillarys were everywhere today, laying eggs -- hope I have some passifloras left by the next sale

It was very late and I was falling sleep in my chair, when I heard a thump on the front door. I went out and found this guy settled in on the screen. I took a few quick shots and it was gone this morning

I wondered into the hoop house and saw this fritilary spinning about madly on the end of a passiflora tendril. I thought it had gotten tangled, but when I got close I saw that she was hanging on carefully and laying a string of eggs on it. Never seen this before.
