So Monday is the next full moon. Hopefully my ir remote and tripod part comes in by then. With my current lenses, what settings would yall suggest?

All I see in your signature is a 35mm and 18-55mm, neither of which would catch any amazing detail. The profile shows a 200mm reach lens, so do you mean that one, or something longer?

As far as settings, one of the sharpest moon shots I've managed to date was at 300mm, 1/250 shutter, f5.6 aperture (at that distance/DOF, no need to go with a tighter aperture), and ISO 200. Fairly typical settings, but I was handheld with VR on. If using a tripod, definitely remote or timer with VR off.

The profile pic is from my cellphone....the only two lenses I have now are the 35mm and 18-55. A buddy of mine has an old Nikon....he might have a lens than can zoom a bit more. I'll ask and see what he's got

Ok so my pal came over with a lens to borrow. It is an old Sakar mc 3.9 70-210mm lens. Can't find much info on it. It fits the 3300, and is very clear as far as I can tell. I'll mess around with it some tomorrow after work if I have time. He said he bought it 23 years ago. I'll post up Tuesday after I get out of the desert.

The ones I took tonight we're sucky. Might put one up later. Looked great in viewfinder, but kind of blurry on Capture xd. I'll try again tomorrow evening.

So far this is the best one from tonight. I will go through all of them in the morning. I don't really care for this lens either.
