The moon is supposed to be called a "micro moon" due to the distance of the moon and the earth. This is one of the farthest distance of the moon.

And here is mine. Funny, I think I have read that we all see the same view of the moon no matter where we live? Is that correct?

I dunno. I have been looking at this thread from the beginning and I see different views of the moon although all show the same side of the moon. Maybe it is we always see the same side not the same view angle.

This image isn't recent but it's one I worked for several nights in a row. This is a new moon setting on the right with the Pan-Starr Comet on the left. It was a really cool feeling to capture this one.

Actually quite decent!! Nice crater detail and a fuller moon is tougher to get that detail!

What shutter speed is appropriate for moon shots? I used 125 is that too slow?

With what aperture and ISO?

Turn off auto ISO, use 200; for shutter 1/320 normally works with a f7.1 to f8.

Look at the angle of light eg the sun its shining right across, so unless you reduce the hotness of the left hand side it will always appear featureless or less detail. Increasing contrast and highlight may fix this.

Huge difference. I like it. I normally adjust black, contrast and brightness.
