I love this picture so much. Very powerful.

It looks like you used a filter in photoshop to put some diagonal cross-hatching in. (To my noob eyes, anyways.) Were you just experimenting with filters at the time or was there something specific about this picture that you wanted to emphasize?

Well I wanted the picture to have an old filth feel. The biggest change I made was to desaturate the whole thing except for the laughing girls on the billboard. The cross-hatching "kind" of simulated rain...

Vero is two hours north of us, so I'm sure it gets a tad colder than down here. We get some chilly, rainy days and when that wind blows on the beach, I don't wanna be there!!
