Just for fun with the reverse ring, Sigma 105 macro aperture blades. A bit shabby because I was too lazy to get the tripod out so it's hand held and blurred a bit.

A nice and very small beetlely bug on my hat -- I had a heck of a time trying to get focus as he scurried about looking for a way home. You can judge the size by the fabric weave.

I have been keeping an eye on the lynx babies, which just finished another molt, but hadn't seen mom for a while. Found her today a few branches over, getting started on a new batch

One of the baby lynx making its start in life, walking along a leaf edge. Its body is about 1/16" long.

Well, I'm learning. I don't have access to bugs, so I have to make due with what's available. Today, I was in the park with a pretty stiff breeze that came and went, but never let up. It was very frustrating. So, a little while ago, I went outside and clipped a couple of flowers and set up my own "scene". I like it better without nature moving my subject around.

You can even see the pollen in this one.

For me, the most challenging part of macro is the shallow DOF and trying to keep out of focus stuff from distracting the viewer from the subject. Solutions include shooting in the same plane, cropping, focus stacking (with rails), stopping (way) down and shooting super close to subject. Great job on bringing mother nature indoors.
