This little beetle would not stop skittering around, so I couldn't get everything in one shot. Great eyes.

Today I got my 105mm AIS out of the bag. If was bought from KEH, about 4 years ago. By now the focusing ring has become very stiff and the rubber grip loose. At present it has only one focus setting, so I focus by moving the tripod. The spider is very small and just blends with the wall. The images are a bit hazy, as the spider is surrounded by pieces of the web.

These are displayed 1:1 (or 100% crop as some may say). The first shot is with 16-85 and the rest with the macro

105mm F2.8 AIS

The Macro has the best magnification, but is a pain to use - Manual Focus, Manual settings, Manual Flash control, back to the old film days.

This a big fly, filled the DX sensor. Even at F22, the whole fly does not focus across its length. Will try focus stacking some time.

105mm F2.8 AIS, macro at 1:0.88 (with supplied extension tube)
