When I was a lad in Indiana the locals use to climb ladders and fight the wasps with wooden shingles, for fun on a Sunday afternoon. Needless to say i hit the road from there as soon as i was able only to discover that there are crazies almost everywhere. But at least I left that group in the rearview mirror.

Not a big fan of any type of wasp, but the colors here are phenomenal. Just keep the little buggers out there.

A very cool and very tiny grasshopper -- the flower center he is munching on is about 1/2" across

A small bee, maybe a 1/4" long. It was breezy and I couldn't lock a great focus

The hopper finished with the arctotus and decided to do a some aroma therapy on the french lavender
